TAXILA: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Trade and Small Industry (RCSTSI) rejects imposition of new tax on all categories of traders and shopkeepers in the Rawalpindi district.Addressing press conference here on Sunday, Naeem Ashraf, Senior Vice President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Trade and Small Industry (RCSTSI) along with Chairman traders’ union Raja Habib Ur Rehman, President Faisal Abbasi and Vice President Sohail Ahmed has said the chamber rejects the imposition of new which is being implemented after assessment of the monthly and annual income of shopkeepers operating in all bazaars of Rawalpindi district, subsequently imposing substantial income taxes based on these assessments.He added that the government has conducted an assessment of the monthly and annual income of shopkeepers operating in all bazaars of Rawalpindi district, subsequently imposing substantial income taxes based on these assessments.He said that under this assessment, shopkeepers dealing in food, electronics, garments, meat, chicken, tailoring, cobbling, ovens, and kulfi vendors have to pay new tax of Rs20,000 per month in WahCantt He was of the new that due to escalation in electricity tariff, high cost of transposition and massive increase in the prices of raw material, a significant number of shopkeepers have declared their intention to vacate their premises and relocate their businesses. On this occasion, he announced plans to challenge the imposition of new tax in the high court.
