Islamabad A six-member delegation of journalists from the All Pakistan Journalist Association (APJA) met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Park Kijun, in Islamabad. The meeting aimed to enhance global media cooperation to further strengthen Pakistan-Korea relations, cultural exchange, and economic collaboration.The delegation included journalists such as Ifat Rauf, Abid Chaudhry, Wasif Ali Khan, Basharat Ali, Adnan Hameed, and Bashir. On behalf of the Korean Embassy, the Cultural Counselor and Public Diplomacy Incharge were also present. The journalists were treated to traditional and elegantly presented Korean cuisine during the lunch meeting.Secretary-General Abid Chaudhry shared his professional experiences in Seoul and highlighted future avenues of collaboration with the Korean Embassy. He emphasized APJA’s commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and mentioned the successful dinner hosted in honor of a Korean business delegation at Lahore’s Royal Fort in 2023.Ambassador Park Kijun commended the role of the Pakistani media in promoting bilateral relations and shared his personal experiences of living and traveling in Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for the support of APJA members in promoting cultural activities through media platforms.The Ambassador also announced the Embassy’s major upcoming events in Islamabad in October 2024 and extended a formal invitation to the journalists for their participation. He informed the delegation that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea would be organizing “Korea Week 2024” in Islamabad from October 22 to October 27, 2024. The week-long celebrations will include events such as the “Korean National and Armed Forces Day Reception,” “Korea-Pakistan Cultural Gala,” “Korea-Pakistan Movie Day,” and the “Korean Ambassador’s Cup National Taekwondo Championship.”At the conclusion of the meeting, Abid Chaudhry, along with the delegation, presented a commemorative shield to Ambassador Park Kijun. In return, the Korean Ambassador also presented gifts to the journalists, symbolizing mutual respect and the ongoing commitment to cooperation.
