KARACHI: A video depicting a police officer changing his shirt in front of two women at the Liaquatabad police station has caused a stir on social media. The footage shows the ASI, identified as Parvez, removing his uniform shirt while the women are present in the same room. The incident reportedly occurred during an investigation related to a case involving a dispute between the women. Despite the presence of the women, the officer proceeded to change his shirt in what has been described as an inappropriate and unprofessional manner. The situation was captured by a bystander, who later shared the video on social media. In the video, the women are visibly uncomfortable, with their faces turned away from the officer to avoid the scene. This has raised significant concern about the conduct of law enforcement personnel in sensitive situations.Upon learning of the incident, DIG Irfan Baloch swiftly intervened. He took immediate action by suspending ASI Parvez and ordering a thorough investigation into the matter. The DIG’s response highlights the seriousness with which the police department is treating the issue, reflecting a commitment to maintaining professionalism and respect in police interactions. The video and the ensuing reaction have sparked widespread criticism of the officer’s behavior and have underscored the need for stringent protocols to ensure the dignity and respect of individuals involved in police investigations. The department is expected to address the incident further as part of its ongoing efforts to uphold ethical standards within the force.
