Islamabad:Under the auspices of Higher Education Commission (HEC), a two-day National Youth Convention titled “Story of Pakistan and Role of Youth” to highlight the extraordinary achievements of Pakistani youth and promote the spirit of inter-provincial harmony was organized in Islamabad on Tuesday. Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of this grand assembly in which Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Minister for Energy Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Laghari, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Minister for Petroleum. Mossadegh Masood Malik apprised the students about various promising initiatives to take the country forward.A large number of Vice-Chancellors, faculty members and students from across the country are participating in the two-day convention. Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif will address the Youth Convention on Wednesday. While addressing the youth, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized that Pakistan is rich in resources and its youth are the main asset of the country. He said that Pakistan is a land of diverse cultures, languages and traditions and this diversity is the real strength of this country.He said that education is the most powerful tool that can be used to change the world as it nurtures creative thinking and innovation skills in its seekers. Senator Ishaq Dar affirmed that the government strongly supports higher education, research and startup culture in the country. Referring to the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, he said that the government is committed to investing in the youth so that they can compete in the global market.
He emphasized that the strength of Pakistan lies in national unity which will shape the future of the country, we should work for one goal which is the prosperity of Pakistan. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan Prime Minister Youth Program Shape highlighted the important platform available to the youth. He said that the youth of Pakistan has the potential to excel in every field.
He further said that Arshad Nadeem, who ignited the spirit of national unity with his performance, is a shining example of talent and potential. Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Laghari shared a presentation on the energy crisis facing the country in which Complexities of productivity, delivery, demand and distribution are covered. He said that the government is taking practical steps to identify the major “fault line” and solve the problem.
Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima said that IT is a cross-cutting subject and the answer is a necessity of daily life. He said that the government is taking concrete steps to develop the skills of the youth in the digital sector, as the youth are the great asset of Pakistan. He informed the audience that the ministry is going to invest four billion rupees on IT skill development.
He said that the goal of the government’s efforts is to create a healthy environment for IT companies. Petroleum Minister Mossadegh Malik urged the youth to inculcate objectivity, keen observation and broad-mindedness. He advised the youth to learn from their mistakes. He urged to get rid of pessimism and to be optimistic about Pakistan as this country is here to stay.
Mossadegh Malik urged the youth to think about Pakistan and take responsibility for the collective national destiny because the future of Pakistan is in the hands of the youth. aims to highlight the joyous achievements of our youth in the context of pessimistic news being propagated to promote despair and desolation.
He stressed the need for national unity, hope and determination to take the country forward. The Chairman asserted that Pakistan is blessed with a rich diversity that the nation must take advantage of. He expressed regret that the enemies of the country are taking advantage of this diversity by fomenting differences for their own interests. We have to work together to thwart the nefarious intentions and conspiracies of our enemies and bring the country out of crisis.
