Islamabad : National Highways and Motorway Police is regularly conducting live e-open court every month. After assuming the post of Inspector General, IG Rifat Mukhtar Raja participated in the e-open court for the first time on FM95 Radio and NHMP’s official Facebook page. IG Rifat Mukhtar Raja listened to the problems of the citizens through live calls and issued instructions to the concerned officers for immediate resolution of these problems. He congratulated the citizens on the New Year and emphasized that the new year should begin with prayers and good intentions. He said that the top priority of the National Highways and Motorway Police is to provide timely assistance to the citizens and make travel easy and safe. He stressed that no compromise will be made on the safety and assistance of the passengers. IG Rifat Mukhtar Raja said that the Motorway Police is the hallmark of Pakistan’s law-abiding society at the global level, and it is an honor for him to command such an excellent police force. He emphasized that serving the creation in the true sense for the pleasure of Allah is the real worship. During the open court, citizens presented their suggestions, which were appreciated by the IG. They expressed their commitment to further strengthen the institution and serve the people. According to the IG, effective policing on motorways and highways and the hard work of the officers have resulted in a significant reduction in the accident rate. He requested the public to cooperate with the motorway police and strictly follow traffic rules. He termed the e-open court as an excellent means of direct communication with the citizens, quick resolution of their problems, and direct access to higher officers. IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja said that full implementation of the axle load control regime is being ensured and appealed to transport owners and drivers not to load vehicles beyond the prescribed limit. Road safety education is being developed on modern lines to create awareness among the public. He also highlighted the steps taken to improve the welfare of employees, departmental promotions, and meet the shortage of manpower. He said that the mission of the National Highways and Motorway Police is to serve the public and make the roads safe, and all resources are being utilized to achieve this goal.
