Islamabad Police recovered over 60,000 kites and string rolls

During an important press conference at the Rescue 15 field office regarding actions against kite sellers and flyers, SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan stated that the crackdown against kite sellers is ongoing across the district without discrimination.

In this regard, the Shehzad Town police team have arrested five kite sellers and recovered 50,000 kites and 10,000 kite string rolls. Islamabad police teams have also arrested several other kite sellers, ensuring the registration of multiple cases against them.

During the press conference, he urged parents to inform their children about the dangers of kite flying and the legal actions associated with it. He also urged citizens to fulfill their social and legal responsibilities and contribute to preventing kite flying.

He mentioned that announcements about the dangers of kite flying and its prevention have been made in the masjids in the areas of police stations across the district.

He further said that, kite flying is a dangerous activity that can leave individuals permanently disabled or even lead to death. He assured that the crackdown against kite flying and kite selling will continue robustly.

Furthermore, he emphasized that there is a zero-tolerance policy against illegal weapon possession, land-grabbing mafias, and drug trafficking. Strict actions are being taken against those involved, without any discrimination.

Changes have been made in patrolling, and efforts are being made to curb crime. The protection of citizens’ lives and property is the police’s primary responsibility, he added.
