Lahore:On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, weekly general parade was held across the province including Lahore. According to the details, senior police officers inspected the parade while parade contingents saluted. Officers and officials of Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, OCU, Investigation Wing and Operation Wing police stations participated in the general parade. Senior officers also checked the turnout of the officers and officials participating in the parade and the well-dressed contingents of the personnel participating in the general parade marched past. Women personnel also participated in the general parade. Regular general parades are being held across the province every Monday. Inspections were also conducted at the district officers’ quarters, motor transport wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouses and other departments.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the purpose of the general parade is to keep the personnel alert and maintain an atmosphere of discipline, unity and brotherhood among them. He added that the parade is the best demonstration of the discipline of any force, while the general parade will maintain the fitness of the officers and personnel. He said that the parade reflects the rich history, heritage and tradition of the police force.
