Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is taking steps to ensure access to quality education for girls. An educated woman can raise her family in a better way. DEO Rawalpindi Dr. Hajra Shaheen has done PhD in Education. In response to a question, he said that I belong to Khangarh area of Muzaffargarh and a Baloch family, which is famous for the late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan. The education of girls in our area is the same, no special attention is paid to the education of girls in our native area., I am thankful to Allah Almighty that my father gave me higher education. I am the first girl in my family who has done PhD and held an administrative position. Dr. Hajra Shaheen further said that my first posting was as Deputy DEO in Multan where I worked a lot on education and training of girls. After that my posting was as Deputy DEO in Murree after which I was appointed as District Education Officer Rawalpindi (
Female Elementary) on merit through the search committee. After taking charge of the DEO, first call a meeting of the Deputy DEOs and AEOs under him and give instructions that no negligence will be acceptable in the education of girls, if the girls cannot come to school, the school will go to their doorsteps.According to the clear instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Secretary Education, no girl child will be deprived of education in Punjab.District Education Officer Rawalpindi (
Female Elementary) Dr. Hajra Shaheen further said that we also have to work to improve the infrastructure of schools with the aim of reducing the number of girls outside government schools and improving the quality of education. The doors of my office are open for all teachers.
