The chief minister chaired a special meeting during which matters related to the three-marla free plot scheme were reviewed.

The director general of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) provided a detailed briefing to the participants in the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also reviewed the provision of loans to individuals receiving free plots to help them build homes.

The chief minister also ordered the restoration of PHATA’s 23 housing schemes in 19 districts and issued instruction to release funds for the schemes.

The meeting was told that people who had received the loans under “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” programme had started repaying the amount, adding that the repayment ratio stood at 100 percent. A total of 9,661 homes are under construction as part of the scheme.

The chief minister stated that she felt immense happiness when seeing people get their own homes under the “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” initiative.
