LOS ANGELES : A senior Pakistani diplomat was denied entry to the United States upon arrival on a private visit, Dunya News reported on Monday.
According to diplomatic sources, Pakistani diplomat was denied entry by US immigration officials on his arrival at the Los Angeles International Airport, though no official statement has been issued by the US State Department or the Department of Homeland Security.
Sources said the decision to deny Pakistani diplomat entry to the US was not linked to any diplomatic policy or ongoing issue. “It is believed that allegation of administrative corruption during his previous posting in the US may have influenced the decision,” they said.
Sources said the senior diplomat is currently serving as Pakistan’s ambassador to a central Asian country.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Foreign Office has yet to issue an official statement in this regard.
