Lahore:The delegation was led by Additional Director of Civil Services Academy, Qadar Nawaz, and comprised 7 officers from the Pakistan Army, 2 from the Pakistan Air Force, and 1 from the Pakistan Navy. DIG Operations Punjab, Waqas Nazir, delivered a lecture to the trainee officers at the CPO, detailing the operational framework of the Punjab Police. According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, the officers were briefed on operations, investigations, traffic management, public service delivery, and modern crime control projects. They also received insights into the functioning of Khidmat and Tahaffuz Centres, Meesaq Centres, and Special Initiative Police Stations.Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, addressed the trainee officers. IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police is not only focused on crime prevention, but also on community policing, aiming to serve and protect citizens. He emphasized that projects such as Tahaffuz Centres, Meesaq Centres, Tahaffuz Manzil, and Foster Homes provide support and guidance to transgender persons, women, children, and persons with disabilities.Dr. Usman Anwar added that Punjab Police is ensuring the provision of modern services to citizens alongside its core duties of crime control. He highlighted the department’s focus on modern training, advanced resources, and public-centric policing, which have become the hallmarks of the force.Following his address, the IG Punjab also responded to questions from the trainee officers. Senior officials present at the occasion included Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Additional IG Logistics Imran Mehmood, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chohan, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir, DIG Welfare & Finance Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin,DIG Establishment-II Liaqat Ali Malik, DIG Logistics Shariq Kamal Siddiqi, and DIG Training Rao Munir Zia, among others.
