Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in view of the current border tensions, mock exercises are being carried out across the province including Lahore to deal with emergency situations, and security has been increased. Punjab Police is on high alert and stands shoulder to shoulder with the brave armed forces and security agencies for the protection of the country and the nation.While instructing the officers, IG Punjab said that security at police check posts, Chinese and foreign embassies, sensitive locations and installations should be enhanced. Police teams should remain in constant contact with district administration, civil defense, Rescue 1122, and security agencies. Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Elite Teams should increase patrolling around key locations.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that in view of the current border situation, mock exercises of Punjab Police are underway. Elite Force, Traffic Police, CTD, Special Branch, Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, and teams from other law enforcement agencies are participating in these mock exercises. The purpose of the mock drills is to respond to any unforeseen situation, prevent threats, safely rescue citizens, and further improve response time.To ensure security, law and order, and relief activities, mock exercises will continue. Search, sweep and combing operations are also being conducted to hold terrorists and anti-state elements accountable. IG Punjab said to keep strict vigilance over internal borders of the country, terrorists, miscreants, and suspicious individuals. Citizens must not pay any attention to fabricated rumors and unverified social media messages. Necessary instructions have already been issued to RPOs, DPOs, and all formation heads in accordance with the war book.
