LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, remains committed to the health welfare of his force and their families. As part of this ongoing commitment, an additional Rs. 2.89 million has been released for the medical treatment of police employees and their family members. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, retired Office Superintendent Abdul Ghaffar was granted Rs. 500,000 for liver cancer treatment, and Security Constable Qaiser Masih was provided Rs. 350,000 for major surgery. Constable Syed Iftikhar Hussain received Rs. 250,000 for his wife’s breast cancer treatment, while Constable Tanveer Ahmed was also given Rs. 250,000 for major surgery. Inspector Obaidullah Khan, Sub-Inspector Shehzad Rasool, and Driver Constable Naheed Aslam were each granted Rs. 200,000 for their medical treatment. Sub-Inspector Atta Muhammad, ASI Mohsin Ali, Constable Nazir Ahmed, Junior Patrolling Officer Ali Raza, and Constable Abid Ali were each given Rs. 100,000 for treatment expenses. ASI Muhammad Naveed, Constable Munawar Khan, Technical Officer Waseem Abbas, Junior Patrolling Officer Abdul Jabbar, and Sanitary Worker Hussain Sharif collectively received Rs. 340,000 for medical purposes. Punjab Police spokesperson said that the funds were approved by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar after scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. Dr. Usman Anwar added that under MOUs with various institutions, the police personnel are also being provided with top-quality healthcare facilities.
