LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar met with Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gujranwala, Imran Abbas Chadhar, at the Central Police Office. AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi and PSO to IG Punjab, SP Hamza Aman Ullah, were also present on the occasion. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, appreciated the services of DSP Imran Abbas for collecting blood donations for patients suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia. He said that officers like DSP Imran Abbas are a guiding light for the entire police force. DSP Imran Abbas shared that over the past three and a half years, he has collected thousands of blood donations, and hundreds of donations continue to be collected every month. The blood donations collected from Punjab Police personnel are distributed among various organizations. IG Punjab further said that children of Punjab Police employees affected by thalassemia and hemophilia are being provided Rs. 45,000 quarterly. So far this year, over Rs. 7 million have been allocated for children suffering from thalassemia. Dr. Usman Anwar added that more than Rs. 27.3 million were spent on children of police employees affected by thalassemia during the past year.
