LAHORE:On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a rank-pinning ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted to the rank of Inspector. IG Punjab pinned the ranks of Inspector on 37 promoted officers. Punjab Police Spokesperson said that ranks were pinned on 30 officers from Rawalpindi, 5 from Sahiwal, and 2 from Sargodha. The parents, children, and families of the promoted officers also attended the ceremony. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the newly promoted Inspectors and their families.On this occasion, IG Punjab said that courses for further promotions from Sub-Inspector to Inspector have already commenced. Upon the conclusion of these courses, a promotion board will be held in the first week of September. Promotions will also be made against 30 seats of SP rank and over 70 seats of DSP rank. Additionally, 400 more seats will be available for promotion from Sub-Inspector to Inspector.IG Punjab said that new specialized units, including Cyber Crime and Punjab Tourism Police, are being established. He directed the promoted officers to work as a team to tackle the challenges of terrorism, extremism, and crime. This year, the target is 5,000 promotions. Officers and personnel must keep their ACRs and service records up to date. Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid, DIG Establishment-II Liaqat Ali Malik, AIG Discipline, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
