ISLAMABAD,:Capital Development Authority (CDA) Thursday reaffirmed its commitment to continue operations against illegal constructions and encroachments while pushing forward with urban development projects.The decisions were made during a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA headquarters.The meeting, attended by Member Planning, Member Finance, DG Building Control, DG Law, and other senior officers, reviewed the progress of ongoing anti-encroachment efforts.Chairman Randhawa directed authorities to take strict and indiscriminate action against illegal constructions in accordance with the law to ensure the timely completion of development projects.Discussions also centered on the Urban Regeneration Plan, which aims to provide modern residential facilities for citizens.Randhawa emphasized that addressing housing needs remains a top priority for the authority and instructed the Planning Wing to prepare a comprehensive strategy to meet these demands.In addition, the chairman ordered measures to ensure uninterrupted water supply, improve drainage and sewerage systems, and enhance monitoring mechanisms to maintain civic infrastructure.The Planning Wing was further directed to develop a structured plan for constructing commercial centers and apartments in key sectors of Islamabad, with a focus on central locations.
