ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan on Sunday reviewed security arrangements at various Imambargahs and procession routes as part of Islamabad Police’s preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram.A police spokesperson told APP that the crackdown on potential threats and enhancement of security preparedness is being carried out under the special direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad to maintain peace and harmony during the holy month.He said SSP Shoaib accompanied by SHOs and other police officers, reviewed the security arrangements and inspected the designated routes for religious gatherings and processions.He issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials to ensure strict implementation of the security plan.SSP Shoaib said the Islamabad Police are committed to providing foolproof security during Muharram, with special emphasis on the protection of Majalis and processions. The SSP directed that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) be implemented in letter and spirit.SSP said measures are also being taken to promote sectarian harmony and tolerance among different communities throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.He said, “In line with the vision of the IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi , all efforts will be made to ensure peace and security across the capital during the holy month.”
