Lahore:In line with the vision of “Drug-Free Punjab” and under the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, anti-narcotics operations by Punjab Police continue at full pace across the province, including Lahore. As part of these ongoing crackdown, police conducted 186 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts within the last 24 hours and arrested 105 individuals involved in drug trafficking. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the raids resulted in the recovery of 42 kilograms of charas, 2 kilograms of ice (crystal meth), 7 kilograms of heroin, and 1,265 liters of liquor. IG Punjab has instructed that special operations against drug dealers and smugglers must be intensified. He emphasized that all individuals involved in the supply chain of narcotics should be apprehended and prosecuted to ensure strict punishments. He further directed that operations around educational institutions and hostels be expedited to eliminate drug-related activities from those areas.
