Islamabad:Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Traffic Police organized the workshop aimed at raising awareness about road safety and traffic laws.In this regard, ITP organised a one day road safety workshop at Beaconhouse School System. More than 100 students took part in the workshop.Officers from the education wing of the ITP educated the children in an easy and engaging manner on topics including road safety, cautious driving, dangers of using mobile phones while driving, importance of seatbelt usage.Additionally, they were also educated about the risks of riding motorcycles without helmets, respecting the rights of other road users, using pedestrian bridges and zebra crossings, dangers of overspeeding, traffic signals, lane discipline, road crossing rules and safe walking practices.Through question and answer sessions and practical demonstrations the workshop maintained the interest of the students and helped familiarize them with traffic regulations. The primary objective of the workshop was to train students from an early age about traffic rules, road safety and being responsible citizens so they not only follow the law themselves but also encourage others to travel safely.During the workshop, the education wing emphasized that creating awareness among children is a long term investment as they are the future custodians of traffic discipline and road safety principles.Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (retd) Hamzah Humayun appreciated the initiative and stated that Islamabad Traffic Police not only ensures the enforcement of traffic laws but is also actively promoting a safe traffic culture through awareness campaigns in educational institutions.
He further added that the Traffic Police will continue organizing such training workshops in various schools, colleges and universities in the future as well.
