ISLAMABAD,:Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday met with President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi at the CDA Headquarters to discuss joint efforts for the promotion and development of tennis in the federal capital.
During the discussion, both sides reviewed plans for the upgradation of tennis courts and the provision of modern facilities to support the growth of the sport.It was decided that the CDA will extend full support to the PTF in upgrading existing tennis courts in Islamabad.In this regard, the CDA Engineering Wing, in collaboration with the PTF, will soon initiate a comprehensive survey and uplift work.Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the Authority is ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Tennis Federation to strengthen institutional collaboration for tennis promotion.He added that CDA is taking practical measures to make Islamabad a sports-friendly city by upgrading and expanding various sports facilities and grounds, many of which are already under rapid development.On the occasion, PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi appreciated CDA’s initiative and said that the partnership between CDA and PTF will not only promote tennis but also enable hosting of national and international tournaments in Islamabad.The development of international-standard courts, he said, will provide enhanced training and competition opportunities for Pakistani players to represent the country at higher levels.Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed his commitment to promoting healthy and recreational activities among Islamabad’s citizens—especially the youth—and assured that all available resources will be utilised to achieve this objective.The meeting was also attended by Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, along with the DG Resource and Director Sports & Culture.
