ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Academy (NPA) in Islamabad to review the progress on its upgradation and infrastructure development project. During his visit, he inspected multiple facilities, including the under-construction hostel building, officers’ mess, sports complex, and firing simulation room.Minister Naqvi was briefed on the status of ongoing construction projects, particularly the new 11-storey hostel building, which is expected to be completed within five months. He emphasized that the first phase of the academy’s upgradation must be completed within the stipulated time while maintaining high standards of quality and transparency.Inspecting the officers’ mess, the Interior Minister personally sampled food prepared for trainee officers to check its quality. He also visited the sports complex, directing that the facility be fully rehabilitated and modernized to meet contemporary training needs.At the firing simulation room, Naqvi ordered its upgradation in line with modern security and operational requirements, underscoring the importance of advanced tactical training for police personnel.“The National Police Academy is the backbone of our police force,” Naqvi stated. “Only a well-trained and professional force can ensure the safety and security of citizens’ lives and property. We are committed to transforming the academy into a state-of-the-art institution equipped with modern facilities.”During the briefing, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa informed the Interior Minister that structural work on the hostel building has reached the third-floor ceiling, and all construction activities are progressing according to schedule.The visit was also attended by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, CDA officials, and other senior officers.
