LAHORE:The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 560 wanted criminals and fugitives through the E-Police Post App, recovering 280 stolen cars and motorcycles in October.According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the PHP also took legal action against 47,391 overloaded vehicles for exceeding axle load limits and 1,360 vehicles for illegal gas cylinder use.For public convenience, the PHP issued 19,863 driving licenses, reunited 41 missing children with their families, and removed 4,538 temporary and permanent encroachments to improve highway traffic flow. Meanwhile, 20,666 passengers were assisted and 17,685 citizens availed policing services at Police Khidmat Marakaz.During operations against illegal weapons, 38 cases were registered, and two Kalashnikovs, three rifles, 33 pistols, and hundreds of live rounds were seized. In anti-narcotics actions, police recovered 1,380 liters of liquor, 4,380 grams of hashish, and 3,600 grams of opium.Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the PHP for their performance and directed officers to continue their duties with dedication to ensure public safety, smooth traffic, and citizen facilitation on highways.
