ISLAMABAD:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday put in place robust security arrangements at churches across the federal capital to ensure the safety of the Christian community during worship.
An official told dateline that police officers and personnel remained on high alert outside churches, while strict monitoring was carried out to maintain a peaceful and secure environment.SSP Operations Islamabad said that special instructions were issued to all concerned police stations to reassess security arrangements at places of worship in their respective jurisdictions and ensure foolproof measures.

He said that checking at entry and exit points was intensified, while surveillance was carried out through walk-through gates and CCTV cameras to prevent any untoward incident.Senior police officers also visited various churches to review security arrangements and issued on-the-spot instructions to personnel deployed on duty. Female police officers were also part of the security teams to facilitate families and women worshippers.The SSP Operations emphasized that protection of life and property of minorities remains a top priority of Islamabad Police, adding that the force is fully prepared to respond promptly to any emergency situation./
