RAWALPINDI:The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducting 12 operations across the country, arrested 14 suspects, including 2 women, and seized 90.73 kilograms of narcotics with an estimated value of Rs10.4 million, the force said on Monday.In operations carried out near educational institutions, the ANF recovered 1.2 kilograms of hashish from a suspect near Sakhi Sarwar Road in Dera Ghazi Khan district. The arrested suspect confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
Under international drug interdiction efforts, 28 grams of weed were seized from a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom at the International Mailing Office in Rawalpindi.Near the Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza in Sheikhupura, 30 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle, and 2 suspects were arrested.
On Raiwind Road in Lahore, 20.4 kilograms of hashish were seized from a man and a woman travelling in a rickshaw.At Jamshoro Toll Plaza, the ANF recovered 8 kilograms of hashish from a suspect in an operation, while a separate raid at the same location resulted in the seizure of 6 kilograms of hashish from another suspect.In Lahore, 3 kilograms of heroin, along with a drone and a remote control, were recovered from a suspect on Gulberg Road. Near No. 26 Bus Stand, 7.2 kilograms of hashish and 1.5 kilograms of ice were seized from a man and a woman.Further recoveries included 7.2 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle near Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 4.8 kilograms of hashish from a suspect near Raiwind Road in Kasur, and smaller quantities from motorcyclists near Mullan Mansoor Toll Plaza (946 grams) and Teen Mela Chowk (204 grams) in Attock district.Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, the ANF said.
