ISLAMABAD: The Sawan Division of Islamabad Police has arrested a total of 41 people in a major and successful operation against immoral activities and violations of the Smoking Act. This special crackdown was carried out on the special instructions of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza. The operation was supervised by SP Sawan Circle Khurram Ashraf while the operation was led by SHO Police Station Lohi Bher Fawad Khalid, whose professional strategy and effective surveillance have led to clear progress against criminal elements in the area. According to police sources, after the appointment of SHO Fawad Khalid, there has been a significant reduction in immoral activities, public complaints and lawlessness within the limits of Lohi Bher police station and the law and order situation in the area has improved. According to the police, the operations were carried out at different places on January 10, 2026. According to the details, 16 people involved in immoral activities were arrested under case number 34/26 (Section 294 PPC), whose case is being investigated by Sub-Inspector Amir Ali Soomro. Similarly, 18 people were arrested under case number 33/26 (Section 8/9/10/11 Smoking Act), the investigating officer of this case is ASI Muhammad Refan. Furthermore, 7 people were detained under case number 32/26 (Section 294 PPC), whose investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Irfan Ashraf. According to the police, cases have been registered against all the accused as per the law and further legal action is underway. Islamabad Police Spokesperson said on this occasion that the Lohi Bher Police Station, headed by SHO Fawad Khalid, has taken effective steps to eliminate crime, protect the public and establish law and order in the area. According to the spokesperson, a zero tolerance policy is being strictly implemented against immoral activities, public disorder and violations of the Smoking Act and such crackdowns should continue in the future to protect the lives and property of the public.
