ISLAMABAD:The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully completed its large-scale Winterization Initiative in Pakistan, distributing 22,000 Winter Kits to vulnerable communities across the country under its annual winter support program.Under this humanitarian initiative, 22,000 Winter Kits were distributed among residents of 28 of the coldest and snow-bound districts nationwide.
The assistance targeted regions severely affected by harsh winter conditions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as well as selected areas of Punjab and Sindh experiencing low temperatures during the winter season. Each Winter Kit included two polyester quilts, warm shawls for men and women, and winter clothing for children and adults, helping families cope with extreme weather conditions and reducing winter-related vulnerabilities. The project was implemented in close coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), local administrations, and Hayat Foundation to ensure transparency, coordination, and effective delivery of assistance.Through this coordinated effort, the initiative successfully benefited more than 151,236 individuals, reaffirming KSrelief’s continued commitment to alleviating winter-related hardships and improving the well-being of vulnerable populations across Pakistan, while strengthening humanitarian cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
