ISLAMABAD: While reinforcing its position as the premier university of Pakistan, the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) has made significant headway in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and global competitiveness.One of the most prominent achievements this year is NUST’s remarkable leap in the subject of Computer Science, acsending 50 positions globally from 164th in 2025 to 114th in 2026. In addition, the university has retained its first position in Pakistan in the broad subject area of Engineering & Technology.NUST also continues to feature distinctly across multiple disciplines, featuring distinctly among the world’s top institutions. It has been ranked among the top 150–200 globally in key Engineering and Computing fields, while maintaining a consistent presence in the top 300–350 categories across a wide spectrum of subjects, including Natural Sciences and related domains. This reflects strong performance across leading disciplines alongside growing presence in emerging fields.In Social Sciences & Management, NUST has improved its global standing from 361 to 335, highlighting enhanced academic and research impact. Additionally, NUST has achieved a significant milestone with its first-ever inclusion in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence categories.Overall, NUST is now ranked in 21 subjects globally, the highest number by any Pakistani university, outlining its strong multidisciplinary growth with sustained academic excellence.
