RAWALPINDI:The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five suspects and seized 40.876 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs3.9 million in six operations carried out across various cities of the country.According to an ANF spokesman, the operations were conducted as part of an ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking networks.In Hyderabad, 5 kilograms of hashish were recovered from an accused near a university. In Rawalpindi, ANF seized 2.476 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle at Koral Chowk and arrested the suspect.Similarly, 2.4 kilograms of hashish were recovered from an individual near Kamra Road in Attock. In Pasni, a major haul comprising 20 kilograms of hashish and 5 kilograms of ice (crystal methamphetamine) concealed in bushes was recovered near Shahdi Kaur along the Coastal Line.In inter-provincial operations, ANF recovered 3.6 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza in Attock and apprehended a suspect. In another operation at the same location, 2.4 kilograms of hashish were seized from an accused.Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, the spokesman added.
