LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Friday met international athlete Constable Tayyab Gohar at the Central Police Office and appreciated his outstanding performance, awarding him a CC-I certificate.The IGP said that Punjab Police athletes were consistently achieving success at national, provincial and international levels, adding that Tayyab had brought pride to both Pakistan Police and the country through his remarkable achievements.According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Tayyab Gohar won gold medals in three categories of a mini marathon held in Bangkok, Thailand, securing top positions in the 3km, 5km and 10km races among around 1,500 participants from across the world.The spokesperson said that he had earlier won gold medals in 3km and 5km races in competitions held in Dubai and had remained unbeaten in running events at the National Police Games since 2015.He added that Tayyab holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and joined the Police Department in 2015.The IG Punjab reaffirmed that encouragement and patronage of police athletes would continue to enable them to bring further laurels to the nation.
