LAHORE:The Annual Inter-District Police Athletics Championship 2026 was held under the auspices of Pakistan Police, in which teams from Sports Wing Lahore, Dolphin Squad, Investigation Lahore, Telecommunication Lahore, and Elite Force Lahore participated with enthusiasm.According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, a series of athletic events were conducted during the championship, including 100 meters, 400 meters, and 1500 meters races, along with shot put, long jump, and 100 meters relay. The participating athletes displayed excellent stamina, discipline, and professional sporting skills.
In the overall standings, Sports Wing Lahore secured first position, Investigation Lahore stood second, while Dolphin Squad achieved third position.Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated the remarkable performance of the athletes and congratulated those securing top positions. He said that such events promote healthy competition, physical fitness, and team spirit within the police force.Chief Sports Officer Athar Ismail Amjad stated that talented players are being identified through inter-district competitions and are being inducted into police teams. He added that these initiatives will further provide opportunities for police athletes to represent the force at national level competitions.
