ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), while conducting 12 operations, managed to recover over 220 kg drugs worth more than Rs 20 million and arrested 13 suspects, including a woman.
According to an ANF Headquarters spokesman, ANF conducted major operations across the country against drug traffickers, resulting in significant drug seizures and arrests.In an operation at Lahore Airport, ANF foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics abroad and recovered 6.21 kg ice from the luggage of a passenger going to Riyadh. The drug was soaked in the clothes.The spokesman informed that another drug smuggling attempt was foiled at Multan Airport, and ANF recovered 4.6 kg ice soaked in the clothes from the luggage of a passenger traveling to Saudi Arabia.At Islamabad Airport, 1.22 kg ice was recovered from the bag of a passenger traveling to Dammam.In an operation near the Motorway Toll Plaza, Islamabad, 4.8 kg hashish was recovered from a vehicle, and two accused were arrested.Near Burhan Motorway Toll Plaza, 1.2 kg hashish was seized from the possession of a woman traveling in a public Van.An operation was conducted near Sanjwal District Ziarat and 4 kg opium was recovered from a vehicle while two accused were rounded up.In a raid near District Nokundi, 105 kg opium was recovered from a vehicle.
In an operation at a courier office in Rawalpindi, 106 grams ecstasy pills were seized from a parcel arrived from the Netherlands.The spokesman informed that near Ghazri Bridge, Karachi, 12 kg hashish was confiscated from a rickshaw and a suspect was arrested.Near Phandu Road, Peshawar, 79 kg hashish was recovered from an unattended truck.
