RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 175.95 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 1.36 million and arrested eight suspects, including an Afghan national, in seven operations across multiple cities on Friday.According to an ANF spokesman, in operations targeting international trafficking, ANF recovered 500 grams of opium concealed in crockery from a parcel bound for Canada at a courier office in Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore. In a separate case, 250 grams of hashish oil-filled vape devices were seized from a parcel arriving from the Netherlands at a courier facility in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.During domestic interdiction efforts, 1.2 kilograms of hashish and seven ecstasy tablets weighing five grams were recovered from an Afghan national travelling by motorcycle near Railway Road in Peshawar.In Balochistan’s Pishin district, 36 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle, and one suspect was arrested. In Mansehra, 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a car near a hotel, leading to the arrest of two individuals.Another 9.6 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near Kohat Road in Peshawar, where one suspect was taken into custody.In an inter-provincial operation near Islamabad Toll Plaza, ANF recovered 108 kilograms of hashish and 8.4 kilograms of opium from a vehicle and arrested three suspects.Cases had been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
