ISLAMABAD, Sep 02: The entire management and big bosses including a Chairman of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) spent a whole working day at government expenses amidst flood catastrophe and energy crisis, said a source on Friday. On one hand country is facing a big challenge of devastating floods and looming energy crisis, but on the other side Chairman and officers of oil and gas regulator opted to visit scenic valley of Nathiagali on official expenses by abandoning public office, the source added. OGRA official confided to Daily Dateline Islamabad that entire country was facing fuel and energy supply shortage but the regulator seemed to be least bothered to cope with the crisis. According to schedule available with Dateline Islamabad, the OGRA management spent Friday, September 2 as “Fitness Day” in Nathiagali with Chairman, two senior members and more than 40 officials/officers of the regulator at government expenses. One of the official told this scribe that entire OGRA hierarchy reached Nathiagali at 8 and arrived back late in the evening when official working hours closed. The management spent “high” quality recreational time in Nathiagali, Donga Gali and Ayubia. As per schedule, the OGRA officers were asked to preferably wear sports dress. The source said on that very day, several complainants visit head office to lodge their grievances but unfortunately unheard due to absence of officials at large scale.
