Islamabad Capital Police issued 10,647 challan tickets over wrong parking

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police has taken strict action against vehicles over wrong parking for smooth flow of traffic in the Federal Capital and issued 10,647 fine tickets to road users over violation of wrong parking during the ongoing year.
Following directions of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Ops) Sohail Zafar Chatha, Islamabad Capital Police reviewed arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city and issued 10,647 challan tickets over wrong parking.
All Zonal DSPs are directed to ensure implementation of traffic laws through courteous attitude with citizens and people should be treated politely and briefed them about traffic laws.
It is the right of pedestrians to use footpaths and no parking would be allowed there and vehicles should be parked at lots specified at shopping centers while an awareness campaign has been also launched to educate those citizens coming for shopping activities there.
He said that, it is our top priority to ensure convenience for road users by maintaining traffic discipline and every possible effort would be made for the purpose.
