18 criminals held; drugs, valuable and weapons recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital police apprehended 18 criminals including drug peddlers involved in criminal activities and recovered drugs, valuables and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people.
Following these directives, a Abpara police team arrested three accused namely Muhammad Sulman, Muhammad Zubair and Fahim Akram and recovered two 30 bore pistols and 127 gram heroin from their possession. Kohsar police arrested an accused namely Rizwan and recovered 115 gram heroin from his possession.
Similarly, Sangjani police team arrested an accused namely Shahzad Ahmed and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. Ramna police team arrested an accused namely Shahbaz and recovered stolen valuables from his possession.
Moreover, Shahzad Town police team arrested accused Shahnawaz and recovered one kalashnikov from his possession. Kirpa police arrested an accused namely Dilawar Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Furthermore, Noon police team arrested an accused namely Bilal and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from his possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders police teams arrested 10 accused from different areas of a city.
DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
