Capital Police intensifies crackdown against amateur drivers and motorcyclists

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police has constituted special squads to take action against amateur drivers and bike riders not using helmets and following the traffic laws. Following directions of Deputy Inspector General of Police Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha, Islamabad Capital police intensified the crackdown against amateur drivers and those who were not following the traffic rules. In this regard, all Zonal DSPs were strictly directed to take stern action against amateur drivers and to ensure steps for a safe road environment in the city and ensure renewed efforts for awareness about traffic rules among citizens by Islamabad capital police education wing. Islamabad capital police teams are also directed to visit educational institutions to create traffic sense as several students have joined Islamabad capital police as traffic volunteers.
