ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital police apprehended 16 criminals involved in criminal activities and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in criminal activities and looting innocent people.
Following these directives, a Shalimar police team arrested an accused namely Tarena and recovered 145 gram heroin from her possession. Likewise, the Kirpa police team arrested an accused namely Atif involved in illegally selling oil.
Similarly, Bhara Kahu police arrested an accused namely Izhat Khan and recovered 1546 gram hashish from his possession.
Phulghran police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Hanif and recovered 340 gram hashish from his possession. Moreover, Tarnol police arrested an accused namely Fazal Mir Jan and recovered one 9mm pistol from his possession. Sihala police arrested two accused namely Dawood Khan and Bilal Ahmed and recovered 1120 gram hashish and one 30 bore pistol from their possession0. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders police teams arrested nine accused from different areas of a city. DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
