CIA Police foil attempt to smuggle drugs through gallant policing

ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics and recovered a cache of hashish, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in criminal activities and looting innocent people.
Following these directions, a police team of CIA foiled a bid to smuggle drugs in a vehicle and arrested two accused. The accused were identified as Hazrat Usman and Ali Rehman. The Police team also recovered 28 kilogram hashish from their possession. Case has been registered at the Industrial Area police station and further investigation is underway. During preliminary investigation the accused confessed to smuggling drugs from KPK to different districts of Punjab.
DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha has appreciated the performance of the police team and said that Islamabad police is making all out efforts for the safety and security of citizens. He has also requested the citizens to inform police in case of any such suspicious activity in their areas. -NNI
