ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (NNI): National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has rejected a reference for disqualification filed against former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Reportedly, Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, known as Zulfi Bukhari, summited the reference to the National Assembly secretariat, calling upon the speaker to disqualify the PPP co-chairman.
He sought the disqualification of the national assembly member under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
The speaker rejected the reference under Clause (2) of Article 63 and sent a copy of his decision to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). NNI
