Pakistan Navy ship Shahjahan takes part in Langkawi’s LIMA Exhibition

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship SHAHJAHAN recently visited Port Langkawi in Malaysia to participate in the highly anticipated Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023. The purpose of the visit was to foster bilateral ties and enhance interoperability among participating navies.

Upon its arrival at Port Langkawi, the ship received a warm welcome from officials of the Malaysian Navy and the Pakistani Defense Attaché in Malaysia. During meetings with Malaysian authorities, the Commanding Officer of PNS SHAHJAHAN conveyed well wishes from Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi to the people of Malaysia and specifically to the Malaysian Navy. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, bilateral collaboration, and Pakistan Navy’s contribution to regional peace and maritime security.

PNS SHAHJAHAN actively participated in the International Fleet Review held at Langkawi, which was witnessed by the Malaysian Prime Minister. Simultaneously, the ship’s officers and crew members engaged in various conferences, Table Top Discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions centered around Maritime Interdiction Operations. After completing the harbor activities, the ship took part in the LIMA Sea Exercise, joining warships from nations including Brunei, China, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the United States, and others.

The visit of PNS SHAHJAHAN to Malaysia made a significant contribution to promoting naval collaboration among maritime nations, improving interoperability, and strengthening the existing bonds of friendship with Malaysia.

The Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) serves as an important platform for naval forces and aerospace industries to showcase their capabilities, exchange expertise, and explore avenues for cooperation.
