Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Last year, an agreement was reached between Allama Iqbal Open University and Indonesia Open University (Turbuka) regarding the exchange of students and teachers, mutual cooperation projects and fellowship programs in other fields including joint educational and research projects. The formal implementation of the agreement has been started, from August 20 to September 6, a fellowship program was held in Trubuka University under the Asian Association of Open Universities, in which the Department of Distance, Non-Formal and Continuing Education of the Faculty of Education of Allama Iqbal Open University Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Ajmal has participated and completed his fellowship program which will definitely lead to an increase in the quality of education. It should be noted that according to the agreement between these universities of the two countries, the faculty members of Allama Iqbal Open University will be there. And the faculty members of Allama Iqbal Open University continue to come and go under the educational and research projects and fellowship program of Indonesia Open University. Dr. Muhammad Ajmal while speaking on the occasions of workshops/seminars during the fellowship in Indonesia said that Allama Iqbal The scope of Open University has now spread to the whole world, in addition to Pakistanis living in countries around the world, international students are also enrolled in Open University. In the last semester, more than 450 students from 35 countries have enrolled. Dr. Ajmal further said that the desire of the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mehmood, to strengthen our links with open universities around the world, the directorate of international affairs of the university has been activated in this regard. He said that The vice chancellor also wished that the number of international students in Allama Iqbal Open University would reach thousands. Dr. Muhammad Ajmal was awarded with a certificate for completing the fellowship.
