Lahore:A dignified ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in honor of officers and personnel with outstanding performance. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes to 23 officers and personnel from Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Toba Tek Singh.
While sharing the details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that DSP Mumtaz Ahmad Mekan and his 4-member team were awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes for arresting a double murder convict within an hour. Meanwhile, DSP Tariq Mehmood Dogar and his 6-member team were given commendation certificates and cash rewards for arresting a 4-member dacoit gang and recovering stolen goods worth Rs. 24.4 million.
The spokesperson further said that Inspector Khalid Waryah and his 4-member team were awarded commendation certificates and cash rewards for arresting and extradition of six proclaimed offenders wanted in serious crimes like murder and robbery who had fled abroad. Sub-Inspector Anas Rasheed and his 5-member team were given commendation certificates and cash prizes for arresting four criminals involved in a robbery case who also sexually assaulted two women during the crime.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the police teams for their excellent performance and directed them to continue performing their duties with the same dedication. IG Punjab said that encouraging officers and personnel with outstanding performance is a commendable tradition, and this series will continue. He further said that actions against criminals involved in serious crimes should be expedited, and intelligence-based search and sweep operations must continue to eradicate crime. He issued directives to continue targeted operations to eliminate dangerous criminals, drug dealers, and organized crime, and to further enhance the sense of security by providing services to citizens in a safe environment.
