LAHORE, Nov 06 (NNI): Punjab Police spokesperson has denounced the inappropriate remarks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi regarding police uniform.
The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that Shah Mehmood Qureshi abused the police uniform which is lamentable. He further said that Wazirabad incident is tragic and the department’s sympathy is with the victims of the incident.
He said that police is handling the matter with great care while keeping in view the nature of allegations levelled by a political party and its sensitivity. He said that it is not a new practice to be vigilant while dealing with the cases related to sensitive national and political conflicts.
The spokesperson said that, in the past, Punjab Police practiced same vigilance when various political leaders were accused of maligning state institutions and hurting religious sentiments of public. He clarified that police is performing its duty in a neutral way. NNI
