ISLAMABAD: Islamabad capital police Tarnol police teams apprehended six criminals including drug peddlers, absconder and accused involved in possessing illegal weapons from different areas, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Tarnol police team arrested two accused namely Adnan Shah and Raja Muhammad Hanif involved in drug peddling and recovered 1215 gram hashish and 1025 gram heroin from their possession. While, action against the accused involved in possessing illegal weapons police team arrested three accused namely Shah Fahad, Syed Rahim Shah and Zakir Hussain and recovered three 30 bore pistols from their possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and courts absconders Tarnol police team arrested a proclaimed offender.
IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The safety of citizens’ lives and property is the prime responsibility of Islamabad capital police. No laxity will be tolerated in this regard, he maintained.
