RAWALPINDI: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), is currently undertaking an official visit to China from June 18 to June 22, as the head of the delegation for the Pakistan-China Defence and Security Talks.
During his visit, General Mirza held a crucial meeting with General Liu Zhenli, the Chinese Chief of Joint Staff Department. The discussions primarily focused on reviewing the ongoing bilateral defence cooperation between China and Pakistan.
In reaffirming the strong bond between the two nations, General Mirza emphasized the high value and deep-rooted nature of the Pakistan-China friendship in the hearts and minds of the Pakistani people. He further highlighted that the military relations between the two countries have not only stood the test of time but have also witnessed significant progress in terms of high-level cooperation in defense and training.
General Mirza also engaged in wide-ranging bilateral meetings with esteemed civil and military dignitaries, including Mr. Qin Gang, the Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, as well as Mr. Chen Wenqing, among other key military and government officials.
Both sides reiterated their unwavering commitment to their special relationship, describing it as that of “Iron Brothers” and “All-Weather Friends.” It was agreed upon that Pakistan and China will continue to deepen their strategic ties in the future.
This visit by General Mirza highlights the enduring and strong defense cooperation between Pakistan and China, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional security and stability.
