ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has made a significant decision to hold the Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Bari Imam on August 15, 16, and 17, 2023. The annual event will be concluded with a special Dua on August 17th. This year’s Urs marks a special occasion as it is being celebrated after a gap of 16 years.
The momentous announcement was made by the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, during the first meeting of the Committee constituted for the Development and Management of Hazrat Bari Imam Shrine/Complex, held at the Finance Division today.
The committee, chaired by Senator Ishaq Dar, includes prominent figures such as SAPM on Finance Mr. Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Mr. Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Gen M. Afzal Janjua, Mr. Hanif Abbasi (Ex-MNA), Raja Sarfraz Akram, senior journalist Sohail Iqbal Bhatti, Mr. Gauhar Zahid Malik, Chairman of CDA (Capital Development Authority), Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory, and other esteemed participants.
In a unanimous decision, the committee has also declared that the Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Bari Imam will now become a regular annual feature on these dates, ensuring continuity and reverence for this sacred occasion.
The Hazrat Bari Imam Shrine/Complex holds immense spiritual significance for the people of Pakistan, and the decision to hold the annual Urs Mubarak will undoubtedly bring joy and fervor to the devotees and pilgrims. The event is expected to draw thousands of faithful followers from across the country to pay their respects and seek blessings during this auspicious time.
With the Urs Mubarak becoming a fixed annual event, the Federal Government aims to foster devotion and spiritual unity among the people, as they come together to celebrate the legacy of Hazrat Bari Imam.
