In the ongoing campaign from September 7, 2023, the electricity thieves have been fined more than 4 crore 97 till now.

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) In order to cleanse the country and institutions from the scourge of electricity theft, during the campaign launched by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy since September 7, 724 electricity thieves were caught and more than 1 million 84 thousand units were charged and 4 FIRs were registered with fines of more than 97 lakhs and 14 electricity thieves were arrested and the electricity meters of the consumers who stole electricity were disconnected. Along with actions against electricity theft, consumers who have not paid their electricity bills for three months or consumers whose electricity meters have been cut off due to non-payment are also required to pay electricity bills and electricity dues. A full recovery campaign is being conducted and during the ongoing campaign, ISCO’s recovery teams have recovered more than 7 crores 92 lakhs 52 thousand. The field formations have full support of the police for the recovery of electricity theft and dues. Chief Executive ISCO Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan appreciated the performance of ISCO field formations and said that the series of actions against electricity thieves and missing persons will continue.
