Gas theft crack dawn: 2500 gas connections disconnected, more than 2 crore fines imposed

LAHORE (Bureau Report) Sui Northern has released the statistics of ongoing crackdown against gas theft in different areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. According to Sui Northern, during the crackdown, 25000 gas connections have been disconnected and fines of more than 2 crores have been imposed on people involved in gas theft. According to the released statistics, 408 connections have been disconnected in Peshawar and Mardan for meter tampering, direct use of gas, illegal connections. Regional team disconnected 185 gas connections in Rawalpindi, Islamabad. 301 gas connections were disconnected in Sialkot, Abbottabad, Sargodha and Gujarat for illegal use of gas. In Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura, the regional team disconnected 754 gas connections. In Lahore, 363 connections were disconnected due to illegal use of gas. Regional team disconnected 523 gas connections in Bahawalpur, Multan and Sahiwal. Regional team disconnected 185 gas connections in Rawalpindi, Islamabad. 301 gas connections were disconnected in Sialkot, Abbottabad, Sargodha and Gujarat for illegal use of gas.
