City Reporter
ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to bolster Islamabad’s road infrastructure and elevate citizen amenities, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has embarked on multiple projects under the vigilant guidance of its Chairman.
One of the notable endeavors underway is the construction of a new footpath in Sector I-8 of Islamabad, slated to be completed at a cost of 14 million rupees. Tenders for this project have already been published in newspapers, with the construction set to commence following the meticulous scrutiny of received bids.
Emphasizing the significance of such initiatives, the Chairman of CDA underscored the imperative to swiftly repair dilapidated footpaths and ensure their functionality for the public. Moreover, he directed the concerned departments to identify areas necessitating new footpaths, with a view to augmenting citizen accessibility and convenience.
It is anticipated that the construction of these footpaths will not only foster a culture of pedestrianism within the city but also yield substantial environmental benefits by curbing carbon emissions and reducing the carbon footprint.
The proactive measures undertaken by the CDA reflect a concerted commitment to enhancing Islamabad’s infrastructure and fostering a sustainable urban environment for its residents.
