HAZRO: Member district monitoring committee and former provincial Minister Jahangir Khanzada has said that the provincial government has not taken practical steps for strengthening the education sector especially at primary level. . He expressed these views addressing public after performing ground breaking ceremony of construction of primary school in village Asghar in Hazro town of Attock on Sunday. PML Hazro chapter president Malik Ansar Ahmed, local social and public figure Tallal Ashraf Butt and Riaz Khan was also present on this occasion. He added that today early education system on verge of collapse due to paucity of facilities and shortage of teaching staff as no recruitment of teachers was made during the last four years by the successive government. He said that provincial government would utilize its all out resources for strengthening education and health sector in district Attock especially Chach area. He said provision of basic amenities and latest municipal services to the masses was the top priority of the government. He said that the PML leadership was well aware that inflation had hit the masses and that was why the present government was providing billions of rupees’ relief to control inflation. He disclosed that a sum of Rs 106.824 billion would be spent on execution of 47 different roads rehabilitation and improvement projects across the district during this year. “These link roads would not only provide better communication to people living in rural areas but would also facilitate growers and farmers in transporting their cash crops to various markets as the area is famous for producing quality vegetables and fruits,” he said. Mr Khanzada was of the view that after completion of the project, not only general public but farmers would also facilitated which would help them to access made better from farms to market which would also reduced their transportation cost besides better access to market. The former minister said the government was giving priority to the road sector to ensure control of fatal accidents, flow of traffic and better traveling facilities for the commuters. On this occasion he directed the officials of the department concerned as well as officials of local administration that besides completing the development projects on time, the funds should be used transparently. He warned that utilization of sub standard material in the execution of development projects especially road and infrastructure would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against the officials who indulge in corrupt practices.
